Joshua 23:14, “And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed”.
It is so important to focus on the things that God has promised us. His promises are a firm foundation in this time to turmoil and uncertainty. We can cling to what he says because it will never fail.
PROMISES ABOUT GOD:
· He is good
“For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations” Psalm 100:5
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him” Nahum 1:7
· He does not change
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” Isaiah 40:8
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” Hebrews 13:8
· He has a plan
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” Jeremiah 29:11
· He is sovereign
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28
· He gives power to the weak
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” Isaiah 40:29-31
· He fights for us
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent” Exodus 14:14
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10
· He has already overcome the world
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” John 16:33
· He is faithful
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations” Deuteronomy 7:9
· He is always in control
“But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last” Revelation 1:17
· He is holy
“Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?” Exodus 15:11
· He is just
“The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he” Deuteronomy 32:4
· He is merciful
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” Hebrews 4:16
